Contests

A themed open call on the word “panic.” We want flash pieces under 1,000 words that capture the sharp, sudden, and strange experience of panic.

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re seeking poems that give voice to the interior life — the quiet, the loud, and everything in between.

Our flagship annual contest for unpublished fiction and creative nonfiction that meaningfully explores mental health, mental illness, or personal experience.
